ABOUT EBISU

Ebisu was founded by the Kamei Royale Japanese Restaurant Group headed by Mr. Toshiaki Masuda when he wanted to introduce the Japanese cuisine culture to Vancouverites in 1972. After successful opening of more than 5 restaurants, the Kamei Royale group was established becoming the leader to bring forth traditional Japanese cuisine and act as the archetype to fusion dishes popularized today.

On December 22nd, 2006, the group conceived Ebisu on Robson Street, at the heart of downtown Vancouver

The name EBISU is translated as YEBISU, the name of the Japanese God of good luck as well as the guardian of health to children. He is one of the Seven Gods of Fortune and the only one of the seven to originate from Japan.

The first Japanese Restaurant Lounge, Ebisu featured delicious tapas, inventive & original fusion sushi created by master chefs straight from Japan. The trendy modern design of spacious interior, large screens and huge projection TV help set the perfect ambiance for any occasion from quick business lunches, intimate romantic dinners or large parties of any size! The concept was to bring forth an amalgamation of Izakaya, sports bar and Japanese restaurant and have become an overnight success with not just the locals but to tourists and even celebrities and sports athletes!

With the success of Ebisu, a second branch opened at the corner of Ash & Broadway, Vancouver called Ebisu on Broadway. Subsequently, this was followed up with Ebisu Richmond. With each branch being slightly different to cater to its own market needs, the core concept of Ebisu has never changed and that is to welcome all customers to a friendly party atmosphere with great Japanese fusion food, drinks and entertainment.

And now we have partnered with the Kamei group to introduce to you our very own Ebisu right here in Toronto! With over 75 seats to serve, we are proud to continue the tradition to bringing exciting and new Japanese cuisine.
